Lutindi Mental Hospital is a private mental health facility in the scenic Usambara Mountains of Tanzania. Most patients are from the big cities and are addicted to alcohol or illegal drugs, or have schizophrenia or psychosis. Much emphasis is placed on occupational therapy in a rural setting that differs as much as possible from the big city.

With a job orientation internship in Zanzibar, you can combine several short-term internships of 1 to 2 weeks each in different professional fields. You do not need to have any previous experience or training / studies for these internships! You can take part from the age of 16.

As a volunteer in the village school of Muungoni in the Jozani Rainforest, you can be part of the village community and get intensive insights into a rural and traditional aspect of Zanzibar, which you would not be able to find in other locations in Zanzibar. You can stay with a host family or with other volunteers in our Zanzibar Forest Camp.

Opportunities for education are limited in Zanzibar. The project therefore occupies an important position in Zanzibar, enabling young people to advance and develop personally and financially and thus stabilizing their lives and improving their quality of life.

Are animals important to you and would you like to get involved in animal welfare in Tanzania? Then you have the opportunity to get involved in a unique project with us. Arusha has a big problem, especially with street dogs, which multiply uncontrollably and are often in a catastrophic health condition.

The project has a friendly, inspiring multicultural atmosphere and is located directly on the coast.

With us, you have the opportunity to support a project for children and young adults with various impairments. Unfortunately, these people still face many challenges in Tanzanian society: stigmatization and prejudices are omnipresent and government support is insufficient. A large number of disabled children and young adults are not adequately cared for. We want to change that!
