Which internship options can you combine?
Teaching: In the kindergarten or elementary school in the center of the historic old town of Zanzibar Town, you support the local staff with teaching and childcare. Give the children your time and attention and gain practical educational experience.
Tour operator: As an intern you will work in the office of a local tour operator and will be responsible for the communication with customers, prepare travel plans, plan bookings and support the social media marketing.
Tropical Agriculture: In this project, you will work on a farm for tropical fruits and spices and receive detailed instructions from the farmer. The leading farmer is also a lecturer at an agricultural training institute - you'll get access to the agricultural specialist library of the Kizimbani Agricultural Institute.
Marine biology and animal welfare: You will work in a sanctuary for endangered sea turtles and help with cleaning the pools and the lagoon, as well as with preparing the food and feeding the turtles. In addition, you will take part in various activities in the field of environmental protection and the production of creative recycling materials.
Biology, nature and protection of species and local development work: under expert guidance in the Jozani National Park rainforest, you are actively committed to preserving the island's unique flora and fauna. In addition to your commitment, you will get the chance to be part of a rural Zanzibari village community that has changed little over the last few centuries.
Soccer, Athletics, Sports coach: At a soccer talent organization you can train soccer on Saturdays and Sundays. In the morning and in the afternoon of weekdays, you train the members of an athletics organization in various disciplines and can also carry out other sporting activities at various schools and youth clubs. You can decide for yourself how intensively you want to get involved as a trainer and choose the sports.
