The southern west coast of Costa Rica is an almost untouched wonder. Wide palm beaches alternate with large wetlands that stretch for miles across the region. In this project, you will support a research station that cares for the crocodiles, turtles, mammals, and birds that call this place home.

Ecuador is one of the great undiscovered gems of South America. The landscape rivals no other with magnificent mountains, lush jungles and jagged volcanic islands. Volunteer at an inspiring wildlife sanctuary on the edge of the Amazonian jungle, helping to care for hundreds of incredible animals.

Join an active conservation research centre to support their work in researching and conserving amazing local wildlife, including endangered sea turtles. During turtle season you will help monitor and protect nesting sea turtles and release hatchlings into the Pacific Ocean. Throughout the year there are several active scientific research projects to immerse yourself in Costa Rica’s wildlife.

On the Galápagos island of San Cristobal, sea lions bask peacefully on the beach alongside people. It is an idyll that is threatened by plastic waste. An environmental protection program is cleaning the beaches and raising awareness among the population. Support the program – optionally with dives to remove plastic from the sea.

Join an award-winning project and become part of an active research team. Learn to dive or develop current skills whilst carrying out surveys and data collection. Research findings are used to enforce government preservation of the beautiful reefs. Live on an idyllic private island in the Caribbean.

Located on a remote Costa Rican beach, far from tourists and development, this turtle conservation project combines experiencing life on the Pacific coast with helping to protect an endangered species. Track nesting turtles, protect their eggs, release their babies safely back to sea and help to promote conservation in this rural area.
