“The Greenest country in the world“ (NEF), one of the only countries in the world to abolish its army, with the largest percentage of protected national parks in the world,Costa Rica is a very special country.
Incredible landscapes, a huge diversity of wildlife and an exciting culture are only a small part of what will make upan amazing experience whilst you explore Costa Rica. However the growth in tourism means we need your help.
Your program starts:
Based in Quepos on the Pacific coast, you will be met by our own staff on arrival joining our group of like minded Marine Conservation volunteers. We first complete our basic survival training in the jungle for the first week!
There is more, as we will all have the opportunity to explore the surrounding area with optional extras like zip lining, rafting, surfing, horse riding and plenty more!
Become a Marine Conservation Volunteer:
The second phase of your marine adventure is all about protecting the sea turtle population. You’ll learn a great deal about the dangers these animals face and the threat increased pollution and deforestation has on the species future.
You will be taking on a key role in the rescue, rehabilitation and release of turtles using our patrol boat, whilst also assisting on the reforestation of mangroves.
Learn to Dive - PADI Dive Training:
Finally, spend two full weeks on the Pacific coast completing your dive training at a PADI Educational Dive Centre. You learn to scuba dive, gaining your PADI Open Water qualification if you have never dived before. Or, if you have already diving experience, you will gain one further qualification from the ones you already have!
Once qualified as a diver, experience the underwater world by taking part in our unique PADI Conservation and research qualification where you will learn about fish biology, fish ID, reef biology and marine creature biology.
