Medical volunteer in the Caribbean

Your place of work:
You will work in a local clinic or hospital, shadowing experienced medical professionals. You will learn a lot very quickly and take on more and more responsibility. During your placement, you will gain insights into the operations and daily routines of the facilities. You will also experience the stark contrast between Western medicine and medical practice in developing countries.

Your tasks
Your tasks in this project are variable. You will be assigned based on your interests and the current needs of the clinics, and you will create your own work schedule in consultation with the project coordinator.

Regardless of the different departments, you will have the following overarching tasks:

Your tasks will ultimately depend on your previous experience in the medical field, how quickly you learn and how good your Spanish is, since you will need to be able to communicate with patients. Since this is a medical activity, the patient's well-being is always the top priority.
