Location:
Your project location is right in the city center. Despite the central location, you don't have to worry about any noise pollution, the area is very quiet and peaceful. Conveniently, there are all kinds of shops, cafes and restaurants in the area around the volunteer apartment. There is also a cash machine within walking distance. Also nice to know: many facilities have WiFi. As a cool extra, there is the “Game Hut”, a game hut where you can hang out with the other volunteers and play games, for example.
Transylvania is of course best known for the legend of Count Dracula, who is said to have lived at Bran Castle. You should consider a gruesome tour through the vampire's walls - if you dare. An absolute must for anyone traveling to Romania should be the Salina Turda, an underground salt mine museum that also houses an amusement park. After descending quite a few steps, you take an elevator all the way down. Science fiction feeling guaranteed! A Batman episode was supposed to be filmed here, but it couldn't be realized because of the unsuitable size of the Batmobile.
A typical day:
After lunch, you go to your place of work and arrive at the After School Club around 1 p.m. At this time, the young children are already there. You help them with their homework or, if they have already finished it, play games with them. Then the older children arrive and start their homework. If necessary, you can also help them with their homework, but if not, they can simply join in with the games and activities you have prepared as soon as they have finished their homework. You can take a break when the time is right.
Between 5 and 6 p.m., the children go home, and you will also leave the site during this period and return to the accommodation.
You work from Monday to Friday and the working hours are about five hours, from 12-6 p.m., with the round trip to the job site being included.
