About the street children project
The street children aid project has existed for many years and was jointly launched by the organizing organization and local residents. It specifically targets and supports children from the poorest backgrounds. The children are cared for and taught in the project. Only very simple materials are available and the lessons take place outside.
Your responsibilities in the project
When working with the street children project, paying attention plays a central role. Other areas of focus are hygiene education, school support and ensuring a warm meal a day. The children are divided into age groups, so you can choose between taking care of the youngest children or school children. While the focus is on care, support and supervision for the youngest children, you will help the older ones with their schoolwork and enrich their daily lives with stimulating educational games.
Your daily routine in the project
Although the children can be on the premises very early, your volunteer work always starts after breakfast, around 8:00 a.m. In the street children's project, work usually takes place from Monday to Thursday from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. We usually cook for the children at lunchtime and then eat together.
Depending on the volunteers currently active on site, an after-school club takes place in the afternoon. You are free to organize further activities for the children!
