About the nature conservation project
The organization has been working to protect nature and animals in Zimbabwe for 15 years. On the one hand, the project is committed to sustainability, for example by replanting trees. The second focus is on conservation management through wildlife census and tracking, erosion control and the removal of poacher traps.
The organization is also committed to ensuring that the local population receives education and is informed about environmental protection.
The aim of the project is to protect rare animal species, such as the endangered black rhino, and to preserve their natural habitats.
Your tasks in the project
During your volunteer work, you will learn all about nature conservation on site and how you can educate others about it. You will help to restore the reserve to its natural state and support the team on site with conservation management tasks.
Once a week, you get involved in the organization's development project: you go to a local elementary school and help to educate children about environmental protection and teach them about the topic.
Your daily routine in the project
You work a total of around 7 hours a day, 5 days a week. You will be driven from your accommodation to the work site and back again. At lunchtime, you have a break of several hours during which you can eat and relax. The working days end with an evening meal together.
