About the turtle project
Founded in 1998, the organization is dedicated to the rescue and protection of turtles in Vietnam. Many Vietnamese turtle species are threatened with extinction due to hunting and the destruction of their habitat. At the conservation center, animals confiscated from illegal trade are cared for, researched and in some cases bred for release into the wild.
The long-term goal of the organization is to raise awareness of animal welfare among the population and to sustainably preserve biodiversity in Vietnam.
Your tasks in the project
During your volunteer work, you can take on a variety of tasks. You will be involved in caring for the animals, for example preparing food, cleaning the tanks and helping to expand them. You will also be involved in entering research data and results.
You will also support the organization with its public relations work. On the one hand, you update the website and social media channels, and on the other, you can guide visitors through the facility and inform them about the station and animal welfare.
Your daily routine in the project
Work at the center starts at 7:30 a.m. on Mondays to Fridays. You have a lunch break between 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m., then you work again until around 4:30 p.m. You have two days off a week, usually Saturday and Sunday.
