Which internship options can you combine?

Medicine and nursing: Interested in working in a hospital? A pre-study internship is possible in a hospital, for example in medicine, nursing, obstetrics, physiotherapy and occupational therapy, pharmacy and administration. You will observe and get explanations from professionals and help with simple assistance activities.

Teaching: In kindergartens or informal schools, which are run by NGOs, churches and community initiatives, you support local teachers in teaching and looking after children. Give the children your time and attention and gain practical educational experience.

Day centers for children with special needs: In these facilities you can focus on special needs education (teaching) or physiotherapy/occupational therapy, depending on your interests.

Social work: You get an insight into the activities of a social worker and assist with home visits and in facilities where advice and educational offers are given for children, families, women and HIV patients.

Veterinary clinic: Not only domestic animals, but also farm animals are treated by the veterinarians. In addition to working in the clinic, you and a vet are also out and about on farms and pastures throughout the Kilimanjaro area.

Tree nursery and reforestation on Kilimanjaro: Indigenous trees and fruit trees are grown in the tree nursery. In tree-planting , especially during the rainy season, thousands of saplings are planted on cleared areas. In addition to working in the tree nursery, you will also meet farmers from the village and help them grow corn, coffee, bananas and other crops.

Restaurant internship: Are you interested in gastronomy or African cuisine? Then we will organize a restaurant internship for you. The restaurants are aimed at the local middle class as well as tourists and offer a mixture of Tanzanian and international (Indian, Chinese, European) cuisine.

Agricultural training center and production of building materials: As an intern at college of agriculture, which also has agricultural production for teaching and income purposes, you can focus on agricultural production or on the preparation and implementation of the educational offers. The center also manufactures building materials (gravel, concrete blocks). You can also take part in the courses yourself, which are held in English.
