They quickly outgrew the site and in 2001 moved to an even smaller place without water, kennels or money to build a proper shelter. A German foundation came to the rescue, bought more land, built kennels and a house for the veterinary services. The city council pays for two workers, the foundation pays for three more, a veterinarian, an administrator and further financial support for the animal shelter. Your place of work is home to around 300 dogs.
These local dog shelters are very important facilities for animals and also for the locals in Romania, because they keep the dogs off the streets and provide them with everything they need. The animals are often mistreated or abandoned and volunteers are needed to support the local staff.
