Guide course in Southern Africa
Your training time as a Professional Field Guide will be spent in about four different camps (Selati, Karongwe, Makuleke, Pridelands, Pongola or Mashatu) in South Africa and Botswana. The sequence of the camp stays varies according to the course date. After you have spent some months on the practical and theoretical training, you will have the opportunity to implement your newly acquired knowledge as a field guide in a placement. On request, we will gladly prepare a precise schedule and a detailed list of the course contents for you.
During your training, you will master all the essential skills required of a Professional Field Guide. This includes survival strategies in the wild, leading game drives and bush walks, firearm handling, and medical training. The focus of your education will be on the diverse and captivating flora and fauna of Southern Africa. Daily encounters with fascinating birds, fish, reptiles, and mammals will be a key part of your experience, as you learn to observe their behavior up close.
Enjoy an unforgettble year, surrounded by Southern Africa's wild nature, and become a skilled nature guide able to lead guests safely through the African bush!
